Happy new Tablet

Thu Jan 8, 2009, 4:04 AM
:D

Firstly a happy belated happy new year to you all.

Secondly. I have a graphics Tablet!!!!

But as usual there is a spanner in the works! (If i didnt have bad luck i'd have no luck at all!)

If i fell in a barrel of nipple i'd come out sucking my thumb!

My main pc (the one with CS3) has contracted a nastly ikkle trojan thanks to my 15 year old lad that clicks links for fun! Grrrrrrrrr. So as of yet i have not been able to use it properly. This lappy doesnt have the capacity to run cs or it would be on here.

Thirdly, i am updating this journal again (as seems the norm for me) because i have f*cked my back up yet again. I had been praying for some snow to be able to take the kids sledging and low and behold.. we go snow!! I was very happy, this was Sunday night / Monday morning just gone. We live near the hills so i was going to take them monday night. Monday morning i slipped in the aforementioned snow and am now f*cked again.

(Bucket - nipples - thumb!)

Any hows, how are we all doing, keeping well i trust, how where you new holidays? Anyone with any intresting resolutions??

Speak soon
Chris

What a tool!

Thought i would do a little update as i havent been around for a while. Final got a copy of CS3 and am current going through some more tutorials.

I have been very laps in getting anything put up on here for a while, but i have been touring the country and got some photos i will upload at some stage. Panoramas, another wonderful capability of cs3 (well auto align and auto blend!)

Take care people.

Crisis Resolved and created.!

OK, some one some where is having a laff with me. As per my previous entry where i said i had lost CS2, well i was having a mooch round my hard drive having a clean up and came across Photoshop 7 full copy that i had saved there years ago (i do have a tendancy to hoard somethings). Any how, i was well chuffed  But alas my joy has been short lived. You see, i installed Photoshop no problems, tested it out and all seemed well, i had my favourite toy back, (well second fav, cs2 albeit similar, is a better tool as anyone knows).Next day came back booted up, opened PS and now for some reason it wont let me do anything to the layers, i mean when i open an image and for arguements sake say i want to apply a gradient, i click on the gradient icon, it selects /  highlights it no problem, but it does allow me to apply /draw the gradient, the tool that is on the screen is the little had for draggin and positioning, and it does this what ever tool i select..!!!!! I seem to remember having this problem before, but cant remember how i resolved it. Am i doing something wrong? I miss my play toy

Devious Journal Entry

Back again.

Well never really went anywhere, was still here, mooching around.

I have however had a disaster. Had to do a rebuild on the computer because it wemt tits up.. and lost loads of stuff, including CS2... and to make things worse, my darling little boy had loads of fun sliding my CS2 install disc across the floor.. and now it wont re-install.. so... gutted..!

Therefore i am now trying to learn The Gimp. Not spent much time on it yet as had other priorities

(anyone got a spare copy of CS2 or Photoshop 7 who feels generous please let me know... =) )

I may be putting some featured stuff on here later. Watch this space it may be yours..! =)

Pop round and say hi

Take care.

Chris

Well i was going to put some features up here, but it seems i have either forgotten how to do it or the way it is done has changed..

Back..!

Fri Sep 14, 2007, 11:05 PM
Hey all..!

Well hey all those who read these journals..:D

Been away for a while bobbing in and out now and then.. Many things have changed in a relativley short time its untrue.. You may remember the back problems i had after an accident, well it got better, then went bad again, and then got better after more physio and appeared to stay that way for a while..... so the doctor signned me off and back to work i went.. all happy but nervous of the same troubles... ( fixing broken down cars was my job prior to back injury, working for the AA ) ....

well 3 hours in to me first shift back on the job... and what i didnt want to happen happened and my back went again .... after being off work for over 3 months and being able to do nothing and i mean litterally nothing i was back to square one...

the job i could not continue i came to realise, well couldnt continue safe in the knowledge that i may just be putting my self in real danger of ending up in a wheel chair or worse dead at the road side some where after an accident caused by my back going... so after another month off work i managed to get a job still working within the AA but now a technical assessor within the accident management team... a good job... but £14k a year less...!

Shit Happens.... Shit happened..!

Glad to say i am still alive and still able to appriciate so many thing, and being part of this site is one of those things. Being off for those 3+ months i was on here a fair old bit and learned so much and met some amazing people.

Things seem to be getting back to some kind of normality now, thank god, the new job is good in respect of normal hours... 9 - 5 !! not done those hours in a long time... oh and i get an hour for lunch... !!!! :D

Hope to be posting some new stuff soon, i have not done any art stuff for a while and i have been missing it... watch this space..:D

speak to you all soon..

Chris
